The Human Being, a Virus of Earth?
In 2020, the virus is spreading rapidly around the world. It is not a story in science fiction or a film but a real situation. The virus, COVID-19 originated by transmitting the virus from bat to human, is designated for a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). It is so infectious that many people quickly get a disease in the short term. Thus, the government of many countries, including South Korea, strictly recommends social distancing. We need to forbear from unnecessary outgo and stay home before this situation comes to an end until scientists develop antiviral drug and vaccine. Thanks to these situations, wild animals come back to their habitats where they escaped from human beings.
The earth becoming cleaner
Humanity has made many pollutants and has polluted the environment since the Industrial Revolution. Atmospheric pollution is more easily noticed than other environmental pollution because we are always surrounded by air. After breaking out this situation, many fields of industry stop their works. According to data from the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), fine dust(PM2.5, PM10), O3, NO2, CO, and SO2, which are sources of air pollution are decreased compared with last year. A drop of NO2 made during the manufacturing process of chemical material is especially realized that this situation makes earth come to be clean.
Animals back in their place
Social distancing and the strict restraint of going out are changing the global environment. Of course, the earth is not just for a human being. It is a place where human beings and wild animals coexist. However, human beings drove out them, monopolized the area, and eventually wiped them out. However, they begin to return the place after the outbreak of this situation. They start to appear in some of the world's largest cities. On March 24, local time in Chile, Puma appeared in downtown in Santiago, Chile. The authorities estimate that Puma, whose food is reduced due to drought, came down.

Do you know environmental capacity? It is a limit on the number of individuals due to ecological resistance such as a lack of food, a lack of living space due to the increase in population density, an increase in waste and disease. In the past, the population of human beings was controlled by famine, war, and disease. However, with the rapid development of science and technology in modern society, the life of human beings has been extended, and the effects of environmental resistance have been reduced. Moreover, they pollute the global environment. Then, we may have two questions: Are human beings' population controlled by COVID-19? Aren't human beings the earth's viruses?
