Flu Vaccination Guide for International Students in Chuncheon (2025–2026)

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) has strongly recommends receiving the influenza vaccination to prepare for the 2025–2026 flu season. Influenza spreads especially easily during seasonal transitions and can rapidly circulate in densely populated environments such as university campuses. The government¡¯s designated recipients of free vaccination are children aged 6 months to 13 years and adults aged 65 and older, while international students are classified as non-insured and must cover the vaccination cost themselves.
In Korea, influenza vaccination is generally recommended from September 2025 to April 2026, and completing the vaccination during this period helps ensure effective protection.

If you plan to get vaccinated in Chuncheon¡¦ what is the most optimal choice in terms of cost and distance?
According to research conducted through the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, the cost of flu vaccination for international students in Chuncheon ranges from 25,000 to 50,000 KRW.

Among these options, the most reasonable choice is the Korea Association of Health Promotion (KAHP) Gangwon Branch Health Promotion Clinic.

l  Vaccination cost: 26,000 KRW

l  Location: About a 15-minute walk from Kangwon National University

l  Operated by the nationally trusted Korea Association of Health Promotion (KAHP)

Considering that students typically start from the campus, this clinic offers a balanced combination of cost, distance, and institutional reliability. Because vaccination demand tends to increase during peak periods, making a reservation in advance is highly recommended.

Precautions Before Vaccination

If you have a fever, body aches, or feel unwell, it is better to postpone the vaccination.

If you have had a severe allergic reaction to a previous vaccine, you must inform the medical staff in advance.

Bringing identification (such as a passport) helps speed up the registration process.

Precautions After Vaccination

Pain or redness at the injection site is common and usually subsides within 1–2 days.

If you experience high fever, difficulty breathing, or severe hives, you should visit a medical facility immediately.

Avoid strenuous exercise or drinking alcohol on the day of vaccination.
