Second-Hand Trading A to Z: Essential Guide
What is Second-Hand Trading?
In Korea, second-hand trading has become an essential part of everyday life. Similar to the flea markets many experienced as children, it differs in that personal benefit takes priority over public good. People can sell items they no longer use, or purchase desired goods at lower prices. Depending on the situation, anyone can be both a buyer and a seller.
Danggeun Market (Karrot)

As the name ¡°Danggeun¡± (short for ¡°your neighborhood market¡±) suggests, this platform focuses on local, face-to-face transactions. Users¡¯ ¡°manner temperature¡± serves as a measure of trustworthiness.
For Sellers
Write a detailed post: Upload clear photos of the item from multiple angles and provide detailed information such as usage, purchase history, and any flaws. Arrange the transaction location and time: Set a time to meet in a safe and public place in your neighborhood.
For Buyers
Check the manners temperature and reviews: Check the seller¡¯s manner temperature and reviews to assess reliability. Use Carrot Pay: Use Karrot Pay, which only releases payment to the seller once the buyer confirms receipt of the item, helping to prevent fraud.
Bungaejangter

This platform enables nationwide transactions and is especially popular for category-specific items. Most trades are conducted via parcel delivery, and the platform provides its own secure payment system, Bungae Pay.
For Sellers
Create a post: Set the category and keywords accurately when posting an item to increase visibility and speed up sales. Delivery: Use convenience store parcel services for cheaper shipping, and always send the buyer a photo of the receipt or tracking number.
For Buyers
Use Bungae Pay: Always use Bungae Pay for safe transactions. Direct account transfers are high-risk and may indicate potential scams. Confirm the purchase: Don¡¯t forget to click ¡°Confirm Purchase¡± after receiving the item to complete the transaction.
Everytime Community Board

Everytime is a community app exclusive to university students, verified through student registration. Second-hand trading typically takes place in the ¡°Marketplace¡± and ¡°Bookstore¡± boards.
For Sellers
Utilizing on-campus direct transactions: Since trades are usually among students from the same school, meeting on-campus is both safe and convenient.
For Buyers
Check class information: Many trades involve textbooks, so be sure to check the course syllabus first to confirm the exact title and edition before purchasing.
While each platform has its own system and precautions, the most important factors across all are trust and safety. By following the basic guidelines, both buyers and sellers can enjoy a smooth and secure second-hand trading experience.
