Upcoming Nuruk Research Institute Will Open in Chuncheon.

The Nuruk Institute that will be established in Chuncheon will hold the Alcohol Forum twice a year to introduce the history and culture contained in traditional liquor and to promote the culture of traditional liquor to the local citizens and other tourists.

Nuruk is a fermentation used to make alcohol by the breeding of fungi with enzymes. Nuruk Research Institute will study this kind of yeast and play a significant role in developing Korea's traditional liquor industry.

Nuruk Institute plans to create a food research support center and a cultural space for citizens. It will also build a Korean Alcohol Research Institute to set up a traditional liquor gallery, Nuruk Exhibition Hall, and Experience Center.

The Nuruk Institute also hosted the second drinking forum at the 60th-anniversary memorial hall of Kangwon National University in Chuncheon. It is a traditional liquor forum for the university's local and international students, and it was also an open opportunity for whoever interested in traditional liquor.

The event consisted of a representative liquor, a yeast exhibition at the brewery, and a restored one by the Korea Food Research Institute. Also, the comedian Jeong Jun-ha held various lectures, talk shows, and a traditional liquor tasting event that attracted the attention to Chuncheon.

The Chuncheon's authority has already agreed with the Kangwon National University in order to organize the upcoming edition at its campus next year.

The liquor industry, including traditional liquor, can significantly increase the value of our agricultural products. It has a positive effect on the community, as well as its essential role to increase the attraction to the Kangwon region.

It will receive much attention from people who lived in Kangwon-do, including students from Kangwon National University.
