Welcome Everyone! Kangwon National University's English Newspaper THE BELL is one of three major press companies in KNU including The Broadcasting Company and the KNU Newspaper.

THE BELL is an official school press that publishes English newspapers every quarter. The paper is comprised of photo essays, interviews, and columns usually dealing with issues in and around the school, working as a bridge in spreading school news. It is very similar in content with the KNU Newspaper, except the fact that it is delivered in English.

The greatest difference that makes THE BELL unique is that its English materials gives opportunity for more interaction between professors and foreign students. THE BELL in a sense gives you the chance to experience a whole new culture, a whole new campus.

Furthermore, considering it is an English newspaper, it is true that the reporters must be, to some extent, proficient in English. However, because our newspapers are revised multiple times by professors and student editors before they are published, it is safe to say that "The Bell" is a place where one can improve their English skills rather than having to be fluent in the language. "The Bell" therefore does not require excellent English skills and regardless of one's major, welcomes anyone with the desire to see the world in a bigger and different perspective.

New members of ¡°The Bell¡± are required to write two articles as a cub reporter. Cub reporters are then promoted as proper reporters and are able to write full-text articles. Through such practices, not only will one¡¯s English skills progress significantly, but it is also a good opportunity to improve writing and editing abilities as well as a great initiative for self-development and growth.

"The Bell" aspires to go beyond what the English newspaper club has previously offered and hopes to reach our readers through innovative new ways. Thank you.
